Nate got a full time offer from PepsiCo in September. They were willing to let us go to any location (Texas, New York, or Chicago) and had great opportunities for Nate as far as different positions. All locations were close to schools with great MBA programs. They also offerend him the opportunity to work from home part time until we would be available to move in the Spring.
We made A LOT of pros and cons lists to say the least.
Because Nate was given this offer so early we were worried we wouldn't have the opportunity to interview with other companies and have more than one option. Luckily, we were wrong. Nate worked hard to meet with companies he was interested in at career fairs and they were willing to expedite the process because of his offer.
Because Nate is AWESOME he got an offer from Squire&Company (an audit, tax, and advisory firm) and Goldman Sachs working in their IT department. We were lucky to make a great connection with our Bishop in New Canaan who works for Goldman and he gave Nate a referral. Needless to say we were so grateful for the three offers, but had a hard time deciding what was right for us!
Squire is located in Orem. The postion for Goldman is in SLC and we decided Texas would be the most practical location for Pepsi because of cost of living
After a lot of praying and going to the Temple we both decided that Goldman Sachs would be the best option. Nate starts in January and we are thrilled. We were glad to officially make the decision only to have more decisions... we need to find a place to live and another car!
We were sad to turn down Pepsico because of Nate's good experience there over the summer. We loved the internship and already miss New York. Lucky for us Nate will be doing some training for Goldman Sachs in New York over the summer so it will be fun to be back for a while.
But for now we are hoping to move in December. I start student teaching at my mom's school in January. So if anyone has connections in draper or sandy area we are looking for a apartment in that general direction :)
Nate sent his official acceptance letter yesterday. Hurray!
